Buccaneer Bay New Regional Director: Mandy Pope!

We want to welcome our new Regional Director, Mandy Pope!!!

She stepped up from being our Co-Regional Director last year and prior to that our Co-Regional Problem Captain for Problem 3 for several years.

I humbly introduce myself as the new Buccaneer Bay Regional Director for Florida Odyssey of the Mind.  My name is Mandy (professionally referred as Amanda) Pope.  I have worked with the new Assistant Association Director and former Buc Bay RD, Laurie Filardo and her family for over 14 years.  My husband and children are all active in OM and intend to invest in the world-wide organization that both challenges, enriches and strengthens the young minds of the future.  I have served the students in Polk County Florida in a variety of K-5 public school positions and am currently serving as the Teacher of the Gifted and as an IB Agency Instructor.  I look forward to creating a spark that reignites Odyssey of the Mind back into our community (which includes Polk, Hillsborough, Pinellas, DeSoto, Manatee and Hardee) by hosting more Spontaneous and Skills workshops for both teams and coaches.  As well as providing virtual coaches training to allow flexibility of scheduling for those already contributing so much of their time.  Finally, I want to work divergently and creatively with both our past OMers and the new members of our Odyssey of the Mind family and grow!
